This blood test enables the determination of both the presence and level of antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, which is the target of many COVID-19 vaccines. It can signal whether a person has already been infected and has potentially developed immunity to the virus, and plays an important part in characterising a vaccine-induced immune response.
What's included
The presence of IgG antibodies suggests that you had an infection in the past, provided that this test has been taken at least 14 days after onset of symptoms. The presence of IgG antibodies may suggest you are better protected from catching the same infection again.
Test instructions
Your finger prick test kit and all instructions are posted directly to you, and there is no need to visit a collection centre.
